DHAKA, Jan 13, 2017 (BSS) - Deputy Speaker Md Fazle Rabbi Miah today said there is no alternative to moral lessons for establishing global peace.
"Teachers should not only provide academic lessons but also they should infuse humanitarian qualities among the students," he told an international conference on "Education for Global Peace" at BIAM auditorium here.
Bangladesh Student Welfare Trust (BSWT) arranged the conference with its executive director and Chandpur Zila Parishad Administrator Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Abu Osman Chowdhury in the chair.
Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) Chairman Quazi Kholiquzzaman and Social Islami Bank Chairman Major (retd) Rezaul Haque addressed the function, among others.
The deputy speaker said it was a matter of deep concern for the nation that teachers and students were involved with the recent militant activities.
He called upon the teachers to play an important role to save the students from being involved with militancy and terrorism. "But if the teachers themselves get involved with such activities, the nation will go towards darkness," Fazle Rabbi said.
The deputy speaker also urged the guardians to monitor their children's movement and behaviors so that they cannot get involved with the disarray acts.
