Dhaka:Nine people succumbed to dengue, while 1,954 individuals were hospitalized due to the disease in the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that the death toll from dengue has reached 316 this year.
Among the newly hospitalized patients, 196 were admitted in Barishal division, 318 in Chattogram division, and 465 in Dhaka division. In Dhaka, 191 cases were reported in the South City Corporation area and 189 in the North City Corporation area. Other admissions included 230 in Khulna division, 97 in Mymensingh division, 184 in Rajshahi division, 71 in Rangpur division, and 13 in Sylhet division.
The report also mentioned that a total of 103,336 dengue patients have been hospitalized across the country this year. In comparison, dengue claimed 413 lives and affected 102,861 people last year, while in 2024, the disease resulted in 575 deaths and 101,214 cases.
