Dhaka:Nine individuals have been arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in connection with an attack and vandalism incident at the Radda health centre in Mirpur. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, authorities have also recovered two truckloads of goods that were allegedly looted during the incident. The attack occurred around midnight on Thursday when over 200 masked individuals, reportedly armed with locally made weapons, invaded the health centre. The assailants held two security guards hostage during the raid. The attackers are accused of looting medical equipment, medicines, vaccines, cash, and other valuables, and subsequently using heavy machinery to demolish the facility. The Radda MCH-FP Centre has estimated the damage to be over Tk 1 crore. A case regarding the incident has been filed with Shah Ali Police Station, and further investigations are ongoing, with legal proceedings expected to follow against those arrested.
