Sherpur: Newly elected reserved seat Member of Parliament (MP) and former joint convener of Sherpur district BNP, Dr. Sunsila Jabrin Priyanka, was accorded a reception by party leaders and activists today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the newly elected lawmaker was welcomed by leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies at the Sherpur-Jamalpur Bridge area under Charpakshimari union in Sadar upazila in the afternoon. Party supporters from different parts of the district gathered at the venue with banners, festoons, and flowers to greet MP Priyanka.
Speaking on the occasion, lawmaker Priyanka expressed that the love and support of party leaders and activists would inspire her to work for the development of the region. She also urged party leaders and activists to remain united for strengthening the organisation and work for the betterment of people.
Leaders of district BNP and its associate organisations, among others, were present at the programme. Priyanka was nominated by BNP for a reserved women's parliamentary seat on April 20 and took oath as an MP on May 3.
