Mymensingh: Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder announced that new textbooks will be distributed to students nationwide on January 1st of the coming year. This announcement was made during the certificate distribution and closing ceremony of the foundation training course for primary education officers, instructors, and assistant specialists at the National Academy for Primary Education (NAPE).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bidhan confirmed that the ministry has already received all the necessary textbooks. With primary schools often doubling as polling centers during elections, he emphasized that steps have been taken to bolster security to ensure the safe storage and distribution of the textbooks, thereby preventing any potential incidents.
In an effort to enhance the quality of education, Bidhan highlighted the introduction of a new training course for aspiring teachers, a first for the country. The government plans to make the Diploma in Primary Education (DPEd) course mandatory for individuals pursuing a teaching career, aiming to cultivate a skilled, responsible, and committed teaching workforce. Bidhan expressed confidence that this initiative will positively impact the nation's education system.
The event was chaired by Farid Ahmed, Director General of NAPE, with Divisional Commissioner Farah Shammi attending as a special guest. Following the ceremony, Bidhan participated as the chief guest at the Mymensingh Divisional Book Fair.
