New Delhi condoles death of Enamul Haque

India has expressed condolences at the death of Dr Enamul Haque, noted historian, archaeologist and veteran museologist of Bangladesh.

He was awarded India’s Padma Shri in 2020 for his work on Bengal’s Iconography and Terracota art, said a message from the Indian high commission in Dhaka on Monday.

Former Director General of Bangladesh National Museum Prof Dr Haque was 85 at the time of his death.

He died at his residence in Dhaka at 3:35pm on Sunday.
