DHAKA, Dec 26, 2016 (BSS)-National Board of Revenue (NBR) has planned to work with Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) in a participatory manner to plug corruption in revenue management.
"Joint steps will be taken with ACC to stop corruption in NBR and action will be taken against the revenue officials involved in corruption," NBR chairman Md Nojibur Rahman said while exchanging views with tax lawyers at the city Diploma Engineers' Institution today.
About the allegation that revenue officials work as tax consultant, the NBR chairman said NBR officials-employees must not do such jobs and asked the officials concerned to find out those who are involved in such activities.
He said NBR will give its fourth-class employees office uniform so that they cannot get involved in any irregularities.
The NBR chairman urged the tax lawyers to work as a bridge between the tax officials and tax payers and said they (tax lawyers) should work to encourage people to pay tax.
