National University Partners with UPEACE and CodersTrust for Student Employment Initiatives

New York:The National University (NU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United Nations-mandated University for Peace (UPEACE) and CodersTrust, a US-based technology and skills development organization. This agreement aims to create employment opportunities for students from NU-affiliated colleges and enhance research activities.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the MoU was signed at the Trump Centre in New York. The signatories included NU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Amanullah, Professor Mihir Kanade from UPEACE, and CodersTrust Co-founder and Chairman Aziz Ahmad.

The MoU outlines a variety of programs focused on developing digital skills, providing employment-oriented training, and promoting peace education. These programs will be available to students and teachers of NU-affiliated colleges through online, offline, and blended learning methods. Training will encompass areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, web and software development, and more.

The collaboration also emphasizes career counseling and the acquisition of workplace-ready skills. The National University will leverage its network of affiliated colleges to deliver these programs, while UPEACE will provide academic expertise and learning materials. The agreement also includes plans for joint research, short-term courses, and international academic activities.

A significant component of the partnership is teacher training and capacity development, enabling educators to integrate modern digital skills and peace education into their curricula. The initiative aims to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education, work, and institutional peace.

The University for Peace, established by the United Nations General Assembly, is based in Costa Rica and focuses on education in peace, conflict resolution, and sustainable development. Bangladesh is a signatory to this institution.
