Dhaka: A three-day National Fruit Fair-2025 is set to begin tomorrow at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) premises in the city’s Khamarbari area. Agriculture Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury will inaugurate the fair tomorrow (Thursday) morning, as confirmed by a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the theme of this year’s National Fruit Fair, which will continue until June 21, is “Eat more local fruits, let’s plant fruits bearing trees.” The fair will be open to the public daily from 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., offering visitors the opportunity to learn about various fruit farming technologies and to purchase different varieties of chemical-free fruits.
The Ministry of Agriculture announced that 26 government and 49 private organizations will participate in this year’s fruit fair, featuring a total of 75 stalls. These stalls will showcase a wide range of fruits and fruit cultivation technologies. Additionally, a seminar titled ‘Local Fruits in Health, Nutrition and Commercialization: Current Perspective, Challenges and Prospects’ will be held at the KIB auditorium, with the Agriculture Adviser serving as the chief guest and Agriculture Secretary Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian presiding over the event.
On the closing day of the fair (Saturday afternoon), awards will be presented to the best stall at the fair premises, recognizing excellence and innovation in fruit cultivation and presentation.
