Magura: The ‘Jute Farmers’ Assembly-2025′, an event organized by the District Administration of Magura in collaboration with the Department of Jute under the Ministry of Textiles and Jute, took place at noon at the District Auditorium in Magura. The assembly witnessed participation from jute farmers across various upazilas within the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Md. Ohidul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Magura, graced the event as the chief guest. He highlighted the government’s commitment to expanding jute cultivation, focusing on modern technology, training, and support to promote the sector. Special guest Md. Kamal Uddin, Assistant Director of the Department of Jute, discussed the initiatives taken to ensure fair pricing for jute, with field-level officials working to aid farmers directly.
Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Jute Development Officer of Magura, emphasized the potential for increased jute production through timely cultivation and proper care. Syed Alauddin, Chief Inspector of the Department of Jute in Magura, expressed the department’s dedication to restoring jute’s reputation as the ‘Golden Fiber’.
Prokash Chandra Sarkar, Additional Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, underscored the need for modern techniques in jute cultivation to achieve higher yields at reduced costs. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hasibul Hasan assured ongoing support from the local administration to the farmers.
