Chattogram: Vice-Chancellor of Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Professor Dr Mahmood Abdul Matin Bhuiyan emphasized the transformative potential of nanotechnology in his address at a seminar organized by CUET's Chemistry Department. Speaking as the chief guest, Dr Bhuiyan stated that nanotechnology is an innovative and rapidly evolving field capable of revolutionizing various facets of life.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Bhuiyan highlighted the potential of nanotechnology in developing new drugs, therapies, and surgical methods. He also pointed out the efficacy of nano-diagnostics in providing quicker and more precise medical diagnoses. Furthermore, he mentioned ongoing scientific efforts to create new materials and devices using nanotechnology, which promise to be more powerful, durable, efficient, and secure.
Dr Bhuiyan also noted the environmental benefits of nanotechnology, including its role in reducing pollution and enhancing the strength and sustainability of buildings. The seminar's main speaker, Professor Dr Zamal Uddin, Founding Director of the Nano Technology Center at Kepin State University of Maryland Baltimore, shared insights on the subject. The event was also addressed by the Dean of the Science and Technology Faculty, Professor Dr A H Rashedul Hossain, with Dr Roksana Khatun, Head of the Chemistry Department, presiding over the seminar.
Associate Professor Dr Shwshata Robi delivered the welcome speech, and lecturer Sanzeda Mukut conducted the event.
