Bandarban: National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam today highlighted the emergence of a new culture of fear in Bangladesh following the recent mass uprising. Speaking at a street rally in front of the Bandarban Press Club, Nahid expressed concerns about the attempts to intimidate and create fear among the populace.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nahid recounted an incident in Chawkaria, Cox’s Bazar, where an attempt was made to attack the party members. During the rally, Nahid stressed the importance of holding accountable those responsible for past atrocities, including genocide, looting, and deprivation of rights. He called for justice and the reformation of the state to ensure a democratic future for the country.
The rally also featured speeches from key NCP figures such as Chief Organiser of the Southern region Hasnat Abdullah, Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr. Tasnim Zara, Jobayerul Hasan Arif, Senior Joint Convener Samantha Sharmin, Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwari, and Chattogram Hill Tracts Region Supervisor Emon Syed.
