Dhaka: National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has met diplomats of the European countries. During the meeting on Tuesday, both sides also discussed European Union’s support for Bangladesh’s democratic transition, an EU Facebook post said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nahid Islam was accompanied by the party’s Senior Joint Member Secretary, Dr. Tasnim Jara, during the discussions. Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh, Michael Miller, among others, were present at the meeting.
“Insightful exchange today with the newly formed National Citizen Party,” said the Facebook post of the EU Embassy in Dhaka after the meeting. The discussions emphasized the EU’s commitment to supporting democratic processes in Bangladesh.
