Myanmar delegation visits Teknaf for 2nd day over Rohingya repatriation

COX'S BAZAR, Another Myanmar delegation today visited

Teknaf here for the second day to verify information of Rohingyas and talked

to them (Rohingyas) about their repartition to their homeland.

"A 28-member delegation of Myanmar arrived at Teknaf Jetty Ghat in the

morning and verified information of 60 Rohingya families staying at

government rest house in Teknaf," Additional Commissioner of Refugee Relief

and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC) Office Md Shamsuddouza told BSS.

After holding talks with the Rohingya families over their repartition to

their homeland, the delegation returned to Myanmar in the afternoon, he said.

Earlier, on Tuesday, a 32-member Myanmar delegation visited Teknaf and

verified information of 180 Rohingya families.

The delegation apprised the Rohingya people of the arrangement of the Myanmar

government for them and encouraged them to go back to their homeland.

On March 15 and May 25, the Myanmar delegation came to Bangladesh and

verified information of about 700 Rohingyas. Besides, a seven-member team on

behalf of Bangladesh government and a 20-member delegation of Rohingyas

visited Maungdaw in Rakhine State of Myanmar on May 5 to see the environment

there for repatriation.
