Myanmar air force chief calls on President

Chief of Staff of Myanmar Air Force General Khin Aung Myint made a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban this afternoon.

During the meeting, President Hamid said Bangladesh offers high standard military training and military officials of different countries take training here.

There is more scope for Myanmar defense forces to take training in Bangladesh and Myanmar can utilize this opportunity, he said, adding that as a result, the relations in the area of defense of the two countries would be expanded further.

President's press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed journalists after the meeting.

President Hamid also emphasized exchange of visits of the high level defense officials of the two countries. Besides, bilateral relations can be boosted by holding seminars and symposiums, he added.

General Khin Aung Myint said many defense officials of Myanmar take training in Bangladesh. There is opportunity for navy and air force officials to take training in Myanmar, he said and invited Bangladesh navy and air force officials to take training in Myanmar.

Secretaries concerned to the President were present.
