DHAKA, Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Bir Protik, today said the government has initiated a move to reopen all closed state-owned textile mills under public private partnership (PPP).
Move is underway to reopen all closed textile mills under PPP . . . if it can be done, more new employment opportunities will be created, he told the function of a signing ceremony between PPP and Consortium of Tanjina Fashion Limited of Ahmed Bawani Textile Mills Limited, owned by Bangladesh Textile Mills Corporation (BTMC), at city hotel.
BTMC Chairman Mohammad Quamruzzaman and Consortium of Tanjina Fashion Ltd signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations, said a press release of the ministry.
Saifuzzaman Shekhor, MP, member of the parliamentary standing committee on Textile and Jute Ministry Israfil Alam, acting secretary of the concerned ministry Gulnar Nazmun Nahar, former BGMEA president Siddiqur Rahman and Managing Director of Tanjina Fashion Limited Hasanul Mujib were also present.
