GAIBANDHA: A motorcyclist lost his life in a road accident on the Bogura-Rangpur Highway in the Bakchar area under the Gobindaganj upazila. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday evening.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the victim was identified as Russel Miah, the son of Dula Miah from the same upazila. Russel was an honors first-year student studying in the Zoology Department at Syed Ahmed College in Gabtoli, Bogura.
Family sources reported that Russel had gone to Fashitala Market on his motorcycle that evening. While returning, he lost control of his bike, which collided with the concrete cement blocks used for road construction. The accident caused the motorcycle to twist, resulting in severe head injuries for Russel.
Local residents promptly rescued Russel and transported him to the upazila health complex. Unfortunately, the on-duty doctor pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj Highway thana, Mojaffar Rahman, confirmed the incident.
