Nilphamari: A month-long iftar distribution programme has begun in the district, targeting laborers, homeless individuals, and low-income residents. The initiative, spearheaded by the District Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, is being conducted in collaboration with the local administration.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nairuzzaman inaugurated the programme at the Chowrangi intersection in the city on Sunday afternoon, marking the first day of Ramadan. The event was attended by several notable figures, including Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Jyoti Bikash Chandra, Anti-Discrimination Student Movement District Committee Convener Syed Mehedi Hasan, and CAB President Gauhar Rizvi.
Syed Mehedi Hasan, Convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement District, stated, "On the first day of Ramadan, a month-long iftar distribution program has been inaugurated with the cooperation of the local administration. In this program, we will distribute iftar items among more than a hundred laborers and homeless people at different points of the town throughout the month."
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nairuzzaman emphasized that the programme aims to distribute iftar to over a hundred low-income individuals daily at various locations within the district town throughout the month of Ramadan.
