Dhaka: Former England all-rounder Moeen Ali is set to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 after being signed by the Sylhet Titans. The team announced through their social media handle that Moeen is their direct signing, further strengthening their lineup.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Sylhet Titans have also secured the talents of local players Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Nasum Ahmed, along with Pakistan's Saim Ayub, through direct signings. The team celebrated Moeen's acquisition with a post on their official Facebook page, stating, "Drive, destroy, deliver. Moeen Ali is a Titan. Get out of the way," along with a photo of Moeen, who has family connections in Sylhet.
Moeen Ali, known for his skills as an elegant batter and a crafty off-spinner, is no stranger to the BPL. He has previously played for Comilla Victorians and Chittagong Kings. Moeen was a key player across all formats for the England national team during his international career and continues to participate in high-profile domestic leagues worldwide.
In other developments, the Sylhet Titans have named Sohel Islam as their head coach and former national opener Imrul Kayes as their batting coach. The 12th edition of the BPL is scheduled to begin on December 26.
