Mock-drill on fire extinguishing, awareness
campaign to reduce risks of fire, has been intensified among the people of
the district in recent times.
Fire incidents are happening often in the country, as a result, the fire
victims are becoming loser economically.
In this regard, there is no alternative to build social awareness among the
common people to reduce the risks of fire.
Taking the matter into cognizance, firefighters of Fire Service and Civil
Defense Station here are conducting mock drills on fire extinguishing on the
premises of different offices and academic institutions in presence of the
employees and students.
As part of the activities, a mock drill on fire extinguishing was held on the
ground of police lines here on Monday.
Additional Police Super (Admin & Finance) Ibne Mizan observed the fire
extinguishing rehearsal by the firefighters as the chief guest while
Additional Police Super (Crime & Ops) Md. Ibrahim Hossain, Assistant Police
Super Shubhro Dev and other officials were present, among others, on the
occasion.
In the mock drill, the firefighters taught the staff and men how to
extinguish fire during the critical time.
Later, similar mock drill was also held on the premises of SP office of the
town.
Meanwhile, district administration is also conducting awareness campaign
among all section of people to reduce the risks of fire, said Additional
District Magistrate Jahid Hasan Siddique.

Zakir Hossain said the mock-drill on fire extinguishing would continue.
