Mobile Court Fines Shop Owner Tk One Lakh for Selling Adulterated Food Items

Dhaka: Mobile courts in the city today fined a shop owner Tk one lakh for selling adulterated chili powder in Enyet Bazar, Battali road area. Faiz Ullah, Deputy Director of the National Directorate of Consumer Rights, led the drive comprising police and BSTI officials and imposed the fine on the owner of Tofa Food Products for various offenses in the said area.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the drive, the mobile court discovered that the shop owner was producing and selling adulterated food items, preparing food in unhygienic conditions, and using harmful chemicals and dyes. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to combat food adulteration and ensure consumer safety in the region.
