Savar: A young man was hacked to death by miscreants at CRP Dagarmora area under Savar municipality here on Tuesday over previous enmity. The deceased is Sultan Hossain Sagar, 22, a paint worker in Savar area, son of Taslim Uddin hailed from Majirga village under Ramganj upazila of Noakhali district. The incident took place at CRP Dagarmora under Savar municipality at 11:30pm.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police reported that Sagar was called by his friend Shafique from his residence around 11pm. Shafique then allegedly hacked Sagar with lethal weapons and fled the scene with his cohorts.
Subsequently, local people rushed Sagar to a nearby hospital where the on-duty doctor pronounced him dead. Police later recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for autopsy.
Officer in Charge (OC) of Dhaka North Detective Branch (DB) police, Jalal Uddin, mentioned that Sagar had an enmity with Shafique, who had previously threatened Sagar several times. This is likely to be a reason behind the killing.
DB and Savar Model police station are jointly working to unearth the mystery behind the killing, said the detective branch OC.
