Dhaka: BNP Standing Committee Member and Political Adviser to the Prime Minister, Mirza Abbas, is expected to return home on Wednesday, September 2, following five months of medical treatment in Singapore and Malaysia.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP Media Cell, confirmed that Mirza Abbas is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka via Biman Bangladesh Airlines at 9:00 pm on September 2. After an extended period of medical care abroad, his health has improved significantly, as advised by the medical board overseeing his treatment.

Mirza Abbas's health ordeal began on March 11, when he suddenly lost consciousness during iftar. He was promptly admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, where a team of neurological specialists performed brain surgery. Following the surgery, doctors recommended physiotherapy, which led to his transfer to Malaysia and subsequently to Singapore General Hospital via air ambulance on March 15.

During his time abroad, Mirza Abbas received comprehensive treatment, including a month-long physiotherapy session at Prince Court Medical Centre, which contributed to a marked improvement in his health condition. The upcoming return marks the end of a challenging period for the political adviser, who has shown resilience in his recovery journey.
