Dhaka: Prime Minister's Political Adviser and BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas paid tribute to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at their graves on Thursday in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Mirza Abbas visited Zia Mausoleum inside Zia Udyan following his attendance at the parliamentary session in the afternoon. Despite being in a wheelchair, he made his way from his car to the graves, accompanied by party leaders, activists, and supporters. He placed wreaths at the graves as a mark of respect for the late leaders Zia and Khaleda.
Mirza Abbas held a moment of silence, recited Fateha, and offered prayers for the eternal peace of the departed leaders. His visit to the graves comes shortly after his return home on Wednesday night, following a five and a half month long treatment period in Singapore and Malaysia.
Mirza Abbas also made his return to the Jatiya Sangsad and delivered a speech, marking his comeback after a prolonged absence due to health issues.
