Dhaka: Bangladesh allrounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz today left the country for Pakistan to participate in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Miraz was signed by Lahore Qalandars, where he will join his compatriot Shakib Al Hasan as a teammate.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Miraz was granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the period of May 22-25. His non-inclusion in Bangladesh's squad for the T20 International series against the UAE and Pakistan made him available for the entire tournament. The Lahore Qalandars have already secured their spot in the Qualifiers following a 26-run victory over Peshawar Zalmi in their last group match.
Prior to Miraz's involvement, legspinner Rishad Hossain and fast bowler Nahid Rana had participated in the PSL before joining the Bangladesh national team for the UAE T20 series. Lahore Qalandars are set to face the Karachi Kings in the Eliminator game in Lahore on Thursday, with Miraz expected to be available for that match.
In a minor hiccup, Miraz arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) without his passport, which was necessary for his departure to Pakistan. After realizing the oversight, he managed to have his passport brought to him by someone else.
