Dhaka: The Bangladesh A team is set to challenge New Zealand A in the second and concluding four-day match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium tomorrow (Wednesday). Following a 70-run defeat in the first match, the hosts are determined to avoid a series sweep in this unofficial Test series.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh A squad, largely composed of current national players, is eager to make a comeback. Skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan's century in the first match was overshadowed by a dramatic collapse on the final day, where the team lost its last four wickets for just five runs, leading to their defeat.
In an effort to rally support, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced that spectators will be granted free entry to a designated stand of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur for all four days of the second match, scheduled for May 21, 22, 23, and 24. Fans are encouraged to enter through Gate 5 and proceed to the Shaheed Abu Sayed Stand to enjoy the match.
The BCB has also requested that all spectators adhere to specific guidelines while inside the stadium. Earlier in the tour, Bangladesh A emerged victorious in a three-match unofficial ODI series, defeating New Zealand A by 2-1.
