Netrakona: A 14-month-old girl drowned in a pond at Bamangaon village under Kalmakanda upazila this morning. The deceased was identified as Sadia, daughter of Rahat Ali, a resident of the village.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, family members and local residents reported that the incident occurred around 8:30 am when Sadia reportedly left her house heading toward a neighboring home. On her way, she accidentally fell into a nearby pond.
Upon being informed, family members rescued the girl and took her to Kalmakanda Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty physician declared her dead. Sajal Sarkar, Inspector (Investigation) of Kalmakanda Police Station, confirmed the matter. The body was handed over to the victim’s family.
