Minor Girl Dies After Electrocution by Torn Electric Wire in Jhenaidah

Jhenaidah: A six-year-old girl tragically died after being electrocuted by a torn electric wire in the Kazipara area under Maheshpur upazila of the district this afternoon. The deceased was Ilma, daughter of expatriate Anwar Hossain, a resident of Fatehpur village of the upazila. The child and her mother lived in a rented house at Kazipara of Maheshpur municipality town.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police and locals reported that Ilma was playing in an open area near their home at noon when she accidentally touched a torn, live electric wire on the ground, resulting in her electrocution.

Locals immediately came to the girl's aid and rushed her to Maheshpur Upazila Health Complex. Unfortunately, the on-duty doctor declared the child dead upon arrival.

Maheshpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiful Islam stated, "We have visited the spot. Action will be taken after investigation if any complaint is filed."
