Narayanganj: A minor boy lost his life in a tragic road accident in the Pachani area of Khagkanda union under Araihazar upazila this morning. The boy, identified as Arif, was only three years old and the son of Awlad Hossain, a resident of the same area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred when a pickup van struck Arif while he was crossing the road near his home. Saifuddin, the Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Araihazar Police Station, reported that Arif died on the spot as a result of the collision.
The driver of the pickup van managed to escape the scene following the incident. Authorities are likely to conduct further investigations to apprehend the driver and ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
