Dhaka: A mild heat wave is currently affecting the districts of Moulvibazar, Chattogram, Rangamati, Feni, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, and Patuakhali, with forecasts indicating that it may subside in some areas soon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has provided a forecast for the next 24 hours starting from 9 am today. The forecast suggests rain or thundershowers, accompanied by lightning flashes and temporary gusty winds, are likely to occur in one or two locations across Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.
The department also noted that day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged. On Sunday, the maximum temperature recorded was 38.0 degrees Celsius in Rangamati and Sitakunda in the Chattogram division, while the minimum temperature today was 18.6 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in the Rangpur division.
In the capital, the sun is set to set at 6:20 pm today and rise at 5:37 am tomorrow.
