Mild Heat Wave Affects Rajshahi and Sirajganj

Rajshahi: A mild heat wave is currently affecting the regions of Rajshahi and Sirajganj, with expectations that it will subside soon, as reported by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BMD has predicted that rains or thunderstorms with lightning and temporary gusty or squally winds are likely in one or two places across Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. There is also a possibility of hail at isolated locations within the next 24 hours, starting from 9:00 am today.



BMD meteorologist Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik noted that the weather may remain predominantly dry with a partly cloudy sky in other areas of the country. He also forecasted a slight decrease in daytime temperatures and a slight increase in nighttime temperatures during this period.



The highest temperature recorded was 36.3 degrees Celsius at Baghabari in Rajshahi on Wednesday, while the lowest temperature today was 14.2 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat in Rangpur. The sun is expected to set at 6:10 pm today and rise at 6:02 am tomorrow in the capital.
