Dhaka: Bangladesh Meteorological Department today forecasted that light to moderate rain is likely over different parts of the country for the next 24 hours beginning from this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, "Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions," said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.
The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal to Assam across the northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to the North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay. A low-pressure system is likely over North Bay from July 24.
Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. The country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded at 36.3 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat, and the minimum temperature today was recorded at 23.6 degrees Celsius at Tangail.
