‘Meet Bangladesh Exposition’ to Highlight Export Sectors in Dhaka

Dhaka: The two-day ‘Meet Bangladesh Exposition’ is set to take place on April 24-25, 2025, in Dhaka, aimed at showcasing Bangladesh’s potential export sectors, including Medical and Personal Protective Equipment (MPPE), leather and leather goods, footwear, plastics, and light engineering.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event is part of the EC4J Project (Export Competitiveness for Jobs) and will be jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the World Bank. It will be held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.

Commerce, Textiles and Jute, Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin is scheduled to inaugurate the exposition as the chief guest on April 24. Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman, alongside Senior Operations Officer and Acting Country Director of the World Bank Suhail Qasim and Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BPGMEA) president Shamim Ahmed, will address the event as special guests. d over by EC4J Project Director (Additional Secretary) M Abdur Rahim Khan, while EC4J deputy project director and Joint Secretary Sheikh Mohammad Abdur Rahman will deliver the welcome address.

The expo, aimed at establishing Bangladesh as a leading sourcing destination for global markets, will operate from 10 am to 7 pm each day. It will feature participation from more than 120 companies, over 25 foreign buyers, and international sourcing agents from countries including Singapore, Libya, Colombia, Algeria, India, Malaysia, and Bhutan, along with over 1000 local buyers.

The event will serve as a significant platform for Bangladeshi manufacturers to connect with global buyers, investors, and industry leaders, fostering opportunities for business expansion and collaboration.
