Khulna: A mason died after falling from the third floor of an under-construction building in the city today. The deceased was identified as Afaz Uddin, 40, son of Md Shahidul Islam, a resident of the city’s TB cross road area. The incident occurred around 9:45 am while he was working at the under-construction building of Dr Ahsan Ali, according to police and local people.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Afaz Uddin sustained serious injuries to his chest and head. His co-workers and locals immediately rushed him to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH). Despite their efforts, doctors declared him dead while he was undergoing treatment around 11:45 am. His body was subsequently kept in the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulna Police Station, Howlader Sanowar Hossain Masum, stated that the body would be handed over to the family after completing the necessary legal procedures and post-mortem.
