Khulna:Masked miscreants vandalized a clinic in Khulna city on Saturday night, spreading panic among patients and their relatives. The incident took place around 1030 p.m. at Sandhani Clinic and Diagnostic Complex on Babu Khan Road, opposite Commerce College.

According to United News of Bangladesh, 8-10 masked men entered the clinic and caused extensive damage. They smashed the glass panels outside the chambers of Prof Dr. Md Kutubuddin Mollick and Dr. Moazzem Hossain, as well as damaged chairs and tables inside the chambers. This forced the two doctors to flee for safety.

The attackers also targeted the clinic's cash counter, smashing its glass panels and snatching the mobile phone of Iqbal Hossain, who distributes reports. During the chaos, clinic official Suresh Roy was injured. Patients and visitors, gripped by fear, ran for cover as the rampage unfolded.

Before departing on foot, the assailants fired a shot outside the clinic to further instill panic. Clinic supervisor Kalyani noted that they were conducting their work as usual when the attack began, and they only returned inside after the attackers had left. She was unable to identify any motive behind the attack.

Khulna Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam stated that the clinic authorities were uncooperative, as attempts to contact them were unsuccessful. He confirmed that an investigation is ongoing and assured that action will be taken against those involved in the vandalism.
