Maritime Safety Week-2025 Set to Launch with Pollution-Free Theme

Dhaka: The ‘Maritime Safety Week-2025’ is scheduled to commence tomorrow in the country, focusing on the theme ‘Pollution-free rivers and safe water vessels will keep healthy environment and project lives’. This initiative aims to emphasize the importance of maintaining clean waterways and ensuring the safety of watercraft to protect the environment and save lives.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has issued a message in honor of Maritime Security Week 2025. The event will officially begin with an inauguration ceremony at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in the capital city. This event underscores the commitment to enhancing maritime safety and environmental protection.



Shipping Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. M Sakhawat Hussain will lead the inauguration as the chief guest, while Mohammad Yousuf, the Shipping Secretary of the ministry, will attend as the special guest. Commodore Mohammad Makshud Alam, Director General of the Department of Shipping, will preside over the program, highlighting the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders in promoting maritime safety.
