Chattogram: The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been instructed to hoist local cautionary signal number three due to the potential impact of squally weather on the country’s maritime ports.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a low-pressure area has developed over the Northwest Bay and its adjacent areas. This has resulted in a steep pressure gradient over the North Bay, which may cause gusty or squally weather to affect the maritime ports, the North Bay, and the adjoining coastal regions of Bangladesh, as stated in a maritime warning bulletin issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

As a precautionary measure, the maritime ports in Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three. Furthermore, all fishing boats and trawlers operating over the North Bay have been directed to stay close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice, the bulletin added.
