Marginalized people being brought under banking services: Palak

State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak today said that the marginalized people are being brought under banking services by using technology without bank account.

"The 'Binimoy' platform has been introduced in inter-transaction to build a country of cashless economy. Through this, the marginalized people are being brought under banking services by using technology without bank account," he said.

The state minister said these in a video message as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the co-branding travel card in the joint partnership of Grameenphone-Dhaka Bank and Master Card at a city hotel, a press release said.

Among the initiatives taken by the Bangladesh government under the leadership of Prime Minister's ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the biggest achievement is the development of e-Government network across the country, he added.

"Through this, people are getting government services easily sitting at homes. So we are always trying to inspire private sector-leaders to provide creative and innovative smart solutions," he said.

Dhaka Bank Managing Director (MD) Emranul Huq, Grameenphone Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yasir Azman and Mastercard Country Manager Syed Mohammad Kamal were also present, among others, on the occasion.
