Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed that the current government failed in the initial days of its formation as some individuals in the government took wrong steps in the initial days.

Addressing the eighth gathering of Chitwan-Kathmandu liaison coordination committee on Saturday, the Maoist Centre Chairman criticized the current government’s moves taken to remove the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The Maoist Centre Chairman termed the Executive Director of NEA, Kul Man Ghising, as a technical expert working to end load shedding in the country and Deputy Speaker Indira Rana as an internationally acclaimed personality in the field of women and children adding that their removal from the posts was not accepted to the people and the opposition parties.

Dahal claimed that the current government was very weak in the area of good-governance and said that the citizens should constantly raise
their voices against corruption.

Dahal was of the view that the agendas of good-governance, social justice and prosperity were raised in an effective manner during his premiership and added that the steps for those agendas would be made a basis for establishing socialism.

He claimed that the people have well understood the fact that the Dahal-led government was toppled while working against corruption and that has instilled energy in him to chart out action plans for upcoming initiatives. Against this backdrop, the Maoist Centre has obtained a great opportunity for party building and this will not be wasted, Prachanda assured the party cadres.

Likewise, Dahal described that the anti-corruption moves at home, and Nepal’s advocacy for world peace and climate justice have provided opportunities for further establishing the leadership of the CPN (Maoist Centre).

On the occasion, the Maoist Centre Chairman said that his party would join hands together with the progressive, leftist and democratic forces to ensu
re the people’s rights.

Maoist Centre leaders Shreekrishna Adhikari and Yashoda Subedi and other leaders were also present at the event.
