Kushtia:An unidentified man, approximately 30 years old, was found dead in a field in the Kamalpur area of Daulatpur upazila on Wednesday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, locals first noticed the body around 615 am when they saw several jackals tugging at an object in the field. The man's body was covered with grass and straw, and parts had been scavenged by the jackals.
A team from Daulatpur Police Station, upon receiving information, recovered the body and sent it to the local hospital morgue, stated Khaledur Rahman, the Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur Police Station. Police have commenced an investigation into the incident. Rahman noted that some parts of the body, including the face, were damaged, and efforts are being made to identify the deceased. A CID crime scene team from Jhenaidah is expected to assist in the investigation.
The body is believed to have been dumped in the field two to three days before its discovery. Additional Superintendent of Police Delwar Hossain of the Bheramara-Daulatpur Circle mentioned that efforts are being made to identify the deceased, and necessary legal action will be taken following the identification and completion of the investigation.
