Nakla: A Mahindra tractor driver was killed after being hit by a passenger bus on the Dhaka-Sherpur highway in Nakla upazila of the district this morning. The deceased has been identified as Abul Hashem, 40, a resident of Dariteghari area of Gaurdwar union in the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred around 7 am in Jalalpur area when a bus heading towards Sherpur hit the Mahindra from behind, leaving its driver Abul Hashem dead on the spot. A passenger was seriously injured in this incident.
The injured passenger was first sent to Nakla Upazila Health Complex and later transferred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition. Nakla Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ripon Chandra Gop confirmed the matter and said further legal action is being taken.
