Satkhira: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 75-year-old man, Jafar Morol, at Patkhelghata on the Khulna highway in Tala upazila of Satkhira district today. The incident has left the local community in shock as they mourn the loss of a fellow resident from Shkadaha village. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident unfolded when a Jashore-bound goods-laden truck collided with a bicycle ridden by Jafar Morol. The impact of the collision left Jafar critically injured, prompting immediate action from nearby locals. They rushed to his aid and transported him to Satkhira Medical College Hospital. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the medical staff at the hospital declared him dead upon arrival. In the aftermath of the accident, the driver of the truck managed to flee the scene, evading capture. Local authorities, quoting eyewitnesses, are currently investigating the incident and are working to locate the driver responsible for the fatal crash. The community is urging for increased safe ty measures on the highway to prevent such tragedies in the future.
