Dhaka: One dengue patient died and 1,083 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till this morning. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued a press release revealing that 85 dengue patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 137 in Chattogram, 171 in Dhaka division, 242 in Dhaka North city while 151 in Dhaka South, 140 in Khulna, 74 in Rajshahi, 35 in Mymensingh, five in Sylhet and 12 were admitted to different hospitals in Rangpur division. This year, the total number of cases rose to 82,120 while 422 deaths from dengue disease were reported during the period. Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 3,21,179 dengue cases.
