Jamalpur: A man was killed in a road accident in Madarganj upazila of the district this afternoon. The deceased was identified as SM Tozammel Hossain, 55, secretary of Sidhuli Union Parishad and resident of Char Pakerdaha village of the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police reported that Tozammel was returning home by motorcycle from his office. When he reached the Polisha area, a speeding motorcycle coming from the opposite direction collided with his bike around 4 pm. The impact of the accident resulted in Tozammel dying on the spot.
Following the accident, the driver of the other motorcycle fled the scene, leaving his vehicle behind. Officer-in-Charge of Madarganj Police Station Khandakar Shaker Ahmed confirmed the incident.
