Khulna: Joint forces in separate drives arrested a man and seized a significant quantity of firearms and ammunition in Khulna during the last 24 hours. A team of the joint forces, including the Navy and Police, conducted an operation early today in the Gazirhat bazaar area under Dighalia upazila in Khulna, resulting in the arrest of Md Badsha Gazi, as stated in an official release. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, after apprehending Md Badsha Gazi, the team seized a country-made shooter gun, one round of bullet, and one kilogram of gunpowder from his residence. The arrested individual was subsequently handed over to Dighalia Police Station along with the confiscated arms and ammunition. In a separate operation, a joint forces team comprising the army and police discovered an abandoned cache on the fourth floor of Sheikh Harunur Rashid Community Center and Children Park in Rupsha Strand Road area yesterday. The cache included one rifle, 13 rounds of live rifle bullets, eight pieces of empty cartridg es, one revolver, 20 rounds of revolver bullets, arms-related materials, nine passports, and 250 Indian currencies. The release further mentioned that the law enforcement agency's ongoing special drive will continue to apprehend criminals and ensure public safety.
