Man and Child Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Gobindaganj

Gaibandha: A man and a minor were killed in separate road accidents in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha district on Friday. The deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Miar Uddin, son of Abdur Rahman from the Malekabag area, and 5-year-old Akash Miah, son of expatriate Mintu Miah from the Katabari area.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tragic incidents unfolded with Miar Uddin being fatally struck by a speeding truck while he was walking along the highway on his way to a mosque for prayers. The impact of the collision resulted in his immediate death at the scene.



Upon receiving information, highway police promptly responded and transported Miar Uddin’s body to the Gaibandha General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.



In a separate tragic event, young Akash Miah lost his life while attempting to cross the road in the Katabari area. Police have recovered the child’s body and sent it to the hospital morgue for further procedures.



Md Mozaffar Rahman, the Officer-in-Charge of Gobindaganj Highway Police Station, confirmed the occurrences of both accidents. He stated that two separate cases have been filed, and investigations are ongoing to identify the vehicles involved in these fatal accidents.
