Dhaka: High Commissioner of the Maldives to Bangladesh Shiuneen Rasheed delivered a lecture and engaged in an interactive session at the Foreign Service Academy with participants of the 32nd Specialised Diplomatic Training Course (SDTC) and the 4th Professional Master’s in International Relations and Diplomacy (PMIRD) programme.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the High Commissioner discussed the nuances of small-state diplomacy, emphasizing the Maldives’ active role on the global stage. She shared insights into the country’s foreign policy, diplomatic engagements, and the unique experiences it faces as a small island state.
The session included a question-and-answer segment where key topics such as climate change, the Maldives’ foreign policy, and its bilateral and multilateral relations were addressed. Discussions also delved into regional cooperation. The Maldivian High Commission in Dhaka highlighted the exchange of views on the opportunities and challenges facing small states and underscored the significance of effective diplomacy in tackling shared regional and global issues.
