Kulim:Malaysia The Malaysia Cleanup Day (HCM) 2026 initiative took place at Junjong Waterfall Recreational Park, uniting the community to maintain clean surroundings and enhance environmental awareness.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event was organized by the Kulim Municipal Council (MPKK) with the support of the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT). It brought together local community members, government agencies, private sector representatives, non-governmental organizations, and volunteers for a community clean-up activity, known locally as gotong-royong.

MPKK councillor and chief whip Badrol Hisham Mohd Yusoff emphasized that HCM 2026 was not just a clean-up effort but a call to recognize cleanliness as a shared responsibility starting with each individual. He highlighted the importance of moving beyond reactive cleaning to preventive measures such as waste reduction, segregation, and recycling.

The programme featured activities including an aerobics session, a gotong-royong around the park, and a lucky draw for participants. Badrol Hisham noted that hosting the event at Junjong Waterfall Recreational Park underscored the value of safeguarding natural recreational areas for community enjoyment.

He stressed that community involvement in HCM showcased the collective responsibility to maintain cleanliness in public areas, recreational spaces, and the broader environment, aiming for a cleaner, healthier, safer, and more sustainable Kulim.
