Dhaka: The country's principal Eid congregation is set to take place at the National Eidgah at 8:30 am to mark the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek, will lead the prayers. In case of any unforeseen circumstances, Islamic Foundation's Mufassir Dr. Maulana Md. Abu Saleh Patwari will serve as the alternate imam.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in addition to the main congregation, five sequential Eid congregations are planned at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. These will occur at 7:00 am, 8:00 am, 9:00 am, 10:00 am, and 10:45 am. The first congregation will be led by Maulana Mizanur Rahman, Senior Pesh Imam of the mosque. The second will be led by Mufti Muhibbullahil Baqi Nadvi, another Pesh Imam of the mosque. The third congregation will see Maulana Md. Zakir Hossain, Deputy Director of the Islamic Foundation, leading the prayers.
Maulana Zobayer Ahmed Al Azhari, Religious Instructor at the Imam Training Academy, is scheduled to lead the fourth congregation. The fifth and final congregation will be conducted by Mufti Maulana Mohammad Abdullah from the Islamic Foundation. During this time, Maulana Shahidul Islam, Assistant Librarian of the Islamic Foundation, will be on standby as an alternate imam.
