Palashbari: A female madrasa student died from a snakebite at Goneshpur village of Kishorgari union under Palashbari upazila of the district last night. The deceased was identified as Taslima Akhter, 10, a fifth-grade student and daughter of Ashraful Islam of the village.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, family sources reported that Taslima, along with her relatives, went out from home. A poisonous snake bit the girl while they were returning home at 9 pm. She was rushed to the upazila health complex, where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.
Local union Parishad chairman Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the matter.
